Christos Massalas
Nelly has escaped from her wealthy and controlling family. As she dances in a strip club, she meets Markos, a small yet charismatic gangster, who helps her run away from her stepfatherâs henchmen. Markos soon becomes her protector and lover. He brings her into Broadway, Athens, an abandoned entertainment complex squatted by a small community of dancers, tramps, thieves and a captive monkey. For a while, everything goes well, even when Broadway hosts a mysterious man, injured and covered with bandages, wanted dead by Athensâ most dangerous mafia. However, when Markos gets arrested and imprisoned, the newcomer will take an unexpectedly important place in the gang.

Christos Massalas
Christos Massalas was born in Greece in 1986. He studied Film Theory at Kingston University, London and Filmmaking at the London Film School, LFS. He has worked in film, music video and theater. In addition, he has completed Artist Residencies in Norway and Serbia and has received scholarship from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. His short films have received numerous prizes and have been selected at international film festivals including Cannes, New Directors/New Films, Locarno, AFI Film Fest, Nouveau Cinema, Sarajevo, Thessaloniki and more. In 2016 he was selected as one of the most promising new directors in the world at the 69th Locarno Film Festival. His latest short film COPA-LOCA premiered at the Cannes Film Festival (Directorsâ Fortnight 2017) and won the Best Short Film Award at the Hellenic Film Academy and was nominated for Best Short Film at the European Film Awards. BROADWAY his debut feature project is supported by the Greek Film Center and the Sundance Institute and was selected for the Sundance Screenwriters Lab and the Atelier CinĂ©fondation de Cannes in 2019.
