Amanda Kernell
Alice hasnât seen her two children in months. After a recent and difficult divorce, her ex-husband keeps them from seeing her, awaiting the final custody verdict in Northern Sweden. When her son calls her in the middle of the night weeping helplessly, Alice takes action. She travels on the night train to the North and in a last desperate attempt to win them over, she abducts the children and ventures on an illicit charter trip to the Canary Islands.

Amanda Kernell

Amanda Kernell was born in 1986 in UmeĂ„, northern Sweden, to a Sami father and a Swedish mother. She trained in filmmaking at the Danish National Film School. Since 2006, she has released several award-winning short films as writer/director, including Northern Great Mountain, which had its world premiere at Sundance 2015 and was nominated for the Swedish Academy’s Guldbaggen award. Her feature Sami Blood (2016) premiered at the 2016 Venice Film Festival and won Best European Film from Europa Cinemas. Charter is her second feature film.
