Fanny, a shy and lonely teenager, goes on a language exchange to Germany. In Leipzig, she meets her pen pal, Lena, a teenager eager to become politically active. Fanny is troubled. To win over Lena, she invents a life for herself, to the extent of becoming trapped in her lies.

Claire Burger

The French screenwriter and director’s film It’s Free for Girls, co-directed with Marie Amachoukeli, won the César for Best Short Film. Her debut feature film Party Girl, co-directed with Marie Amachoukeli and Samuel Theis, won the Golden Camera at the 2014 Cannes film festival. In 2018, she directed Real Love, for which she also wrote the screenplay. The film won Best Film at the Giornate degli Autori – Venice Days film festival.
