Claude Schmitz (born in 1979), graduate of the Institut National Supérieur des Arts du Spectacle (INSAS), lives and works in Brussels. At the same time as his activity as a director for the theater, he makes films. His medium-length film Le Mali (en Afrique) was awarded the Format Court prize at the Rencontres de Brive in 2016. Riensaufl’Été, released in January 2018, won the Grand Prix Europe at the Rencontres de Brive 2017. Braquer Poitiers, his latest film released in October 2019 won the Jean Vigo Prize.
