When Milena gives birth to a baby girl with a rare condition called “Cat’s Cry Syndrome”, her partner and his family refuse to accept her. Now the baby’s grandparents, Stamen and Vera, must fight the Serbian social system for custody, while Milena seeks her own way forward.

Sanja Živković is a Canadian – Serbian writer / director. Credits include short CLEO ( 2016) Toronto International Film Festival ’16, feature EASY LAND ( 2019) Toronto International Film Festival ’19 , Palm Springs, Goteborg. She holds an MFA in Directing from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts Belgrade, is an alumni of TIFF Writer’s Lab and Sarajevo Talents. Most recently she directed CAT’S CRY (2024), winning Special Jury Award at Sofia IFF and special mention for directing at Vancouver IFF.
