Bérangère McNeese
Bérangère McNeese is a Belgian-American filmmaker and actress.
In 2015, she wrote, directed, and produced her first short film, Le Sommeil des Amazones, which was selected for numerous international film festivals. The film won several awards in Belgium and abroad, including the Critics’ Prize at the Brussels Short Film Festival.
Her second short film, Les Corps purs, which she co-wrote, co-directed, and co-produced with Guillaume de Ginestel, followed a similarly successful festival run, earning the ARTE Prize and the RTBF Prize at the Namur International Francophone Film Festival (FIFF).
Her third short film, Matriochkas, was shortlisted for the César Awards and won the Magritte Award for Best Short Film in 2020. It also received the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles Prize and the La Trois Prize at the Brussels Short Film Festival, as well as the Grand Prize at the Palm Springs International ShortFest and the Best Director Award at the Rhode Island International Film Festival.
Les filles du ciel is her first feature film. It premiered in competition at the Namur International Francophone Film Festival (FIFF) before winning both the Grand Prize and the Young Jury Prize at the Saint-Jean-de-Luz International Film Festival.
