Het is een zware dag voor Rafa, een advocaat met sterke sociale overtuigingen. Hij heeft tot middernacht de tijd om de moeder te vinden van een klein meisje dat alleen is achtergelaten in een onhygiënische woning. Als hij niet slaagt, zal de politie het kind aan pleegouders geven. In zijn race tegen de klok kruist Rafa het pad van Azucena, een vrouw die ten onrechte met uitzetting wordt bedreigd en die, om daar onderuit te komen, een burgeropstand probeert uit te lokken.

Juan Diego Botto
Juan Diego Botto is an Argentine-Spanish film, stage and television actor. Born in Argentina, he moved to Spain together with his mother (the actress and acting coach Cristina Rota) in 1978. Following early film appearances as a child actor, he landed a breakthrough role in the 1995 film Stories from the Kronen. He has since starred in films such as Martín (Hache) (1997), Obaba (2005) and Ismael (2013). En Los Margenes, starring Penelope Cruz and Luis Tosar, marks his debut as a film director.
